A Wedding Invitation

The Psalmist calls on us to "give thanks to the Lord for He is good and His lovingkindness endures forever" (Ps.107:1). While there are so many demonstrations of God's loyal love, none compares with the sacrifice of His Son on the Cross. God spoke of His Son's work through Isaiah, "I will also make You (His Servant Jesus) a light to the nations, So that My salvation may reach to the ends of the earth" (Is.49:8). That means God's Salvation through faith in Christ is made available throughout the world and that means to me and to everyone else who turns from their sin and trusts Christ. Salvation from sin is NOT the exclusive privilege of any particular group of people. The blessedness of God's lovingkindness found in Christ culminates in Revelation 19 where we are reminded in what may be the "last Beatitude", "How Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb" (Rev.19:9). Everyone who turns from their sin to trust in the "Light of the World" (Jesus) will know God's lovingkindness and receive their invitation. That is Very Good News Indeed.
