Prescription for Ailing America

Isaiah's prescription for ailing Israel is just as appropriate for the decadence, arrogance, and self-indulgence so rampant in society today. Read the newspaper; listen to the radio; or watch the news and scandal, lies, corruption, greed, abuse of power, stealing, and discrimination abound. The answer? "Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:6-7). The important thing for me to remember is that this begins with me, with my repentance, with my turning from sin. Then I can pray that others will also Seek the Lord.
