Tragic Twisters

As most people in the States know the State of Oklahoma and particularly the town of Moore, Oklahoma have suffered the tragic and devastating impact of a serious tornado. As I write this 24 people have been confirmed killed by this twister. The powerful storm stayed on the ground for an amazing 40 minutes inflicting terrible damage for the entire time. Went to bed last night praying for the folks in Moore, Oklahoma and I am continuing to pray for them. Asking God to comfort them in their loss--some lost only material possessions, others lost loved ones in the tragic twister. Praying they will know the peace of God that passes all understanding. I am also praying for those who are heading up disaster relief efforts, for safety, for God to lead them to any survivors, for the Love of Christ to be evident through relief efforts. I think Philippians 4:6-7 are particularly applicable as a basis for our prayers for the people there. Lots of good organizations available and working hard to help with relief efforts. I'll just put a plug in for Global Compassion Network Disaster Relief. Folks I know who will truly be helping those in need. You can check them out on the internet at globalcompassionnet.org
